Back in 2019, my sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer – she was only 36 years old.
I went through that with her, and though she is ok now, we’re always worried if it will reappear.
Her experience got me thinking about my own breast health, and I started taking steps to come up with a plan. I was shocked to see how expensive preventative tests were without insurance!
I’m only able to work 20 hours a week, there was no way I could afford the hundreds of dollars needed for my tests. I was almost forced to make the decision to choose between food and rent and my future breast health.
Thank God I found ABCF when I did, otherwise as I write this, I still may have never gotten my tests. They were so compassionate and knowledgeable – I felt like I was in good hands.
They scheduled my tests, connected me with support groups, and they generously paid for all of it.
I want to use this space to highlight the importance of prioritizing your breast health. Life can get in the way, and we often forget to take care of ourselves, but there are people and resources out there who can help you when you see no way forward. Thank you ABCF!
